Layer Up, Layer Down | The Men’s Wool Blazer

JW Lewis

It’s easy to layer with a wool blazer, the versatility limited only by one’s imagination. You can wear it over a thin sweater, a crew neck, a vest or a hoodie. When the temps drop, you can wear a slim, down vest over it. And when it gets colder still, like the numbing wind chills here in Chicago, it looks perfect beneath an overcoat.

Basically, a wool blazer is a must have item because function and form work together perfectly. Think long term investment with long term returns.

Personally, I like something in charcoal with a fitted form, which works well with most colors and compliments the wearer. L.L. Bean’s Signature line hits the mark with their wool tweed coat. It has a modern design with a trim cut, so I pulled the trigger and couldn’t be happier. Make sure to size down, though, as my 42 had to be exchanged for a 40.

This time of year is loaded with bargains and look no further then All Saints, who make their home in Britain. They specialize in somber, Gothic tones with a cutting edge and their deep selection of coats have me drooling, specifically the Denial jacket. And at prices at almost half off with free shipping…yeah. We dig it.
